The Capital Solo

This is definitely not the first post I've written about London and it probably won't be the last. If you know me at all then you'll know that I kind of really love me a slice of London. So it was only fitting that for my 20th birthday I take a trip there by myself to explore more of the city. Having never been on my own before I was actually feeling very confident that I could do it all. And let me tell you , I nailed it! The trains, the tubes (fun with the strike), finding my hotel, and generally finding my way around. Luckily I knew my way quite well anyways so that helped a lot. 3 days there and by the end I didn't want to leave.

I really liked the solitary metal box theng. I liked how everyone ignored it and walked right on by without a second glance.

Walking along Piccadilly I found myself faced with this geometric cloud sculpture. That's what you get when you're curious and not entirely sure where you're gonna end up.

I can't remember what this little inside shopping area was called but it was extremely fancy and I was not worthy. Let's just say it lead to New Bond Street.

My curiosity lead me to my crib for the night. I'd never seen the palace in the physicality before so this was a great surprise to stumble upon.

The dream car on the way to South Bank. Mwah!

The evening was drawing in on my last night and I decided to take a seat in front of Big Ben. I saw Koray Hussein taking a photo on the steps for Maybeldner's instagram. Not realising who it was I later messaged him on instagram about the happy coincidence.

Finishing where I began, in Trafalgar Square. I loved the lighting. It was on the verge of it being completely dark and all the lights were on. My favourite time to be in the city.
My love affair with London will be never ending and I already miss it.
One day I shall call it home, although it already feels like it to me.

Thanks for reading.

In the Heart of the City

It definitely feels like a sunday today. How does one day feel like another though? I wish it was sunday as i'd be travelling to go on holiday. 4 days to go. Todays post I wanted to talk about something I really love, something that one day I hope to be knee deep in and this is the city. I absolutely love being enveloped in the city lifestyle. It's a very much get up and go attitude. There's a different atmosphere that can't be found anywhere else. I love it. It excites me every single time I'm in any city. It inspires, drives and motivates me to do more. My favourite 2 cities are maybe the obvious ones, London and NYC, but these are the two that I remember exactly how I feel when I went and leave me wanting more.  Here are a few snaps I took whilst I was in both of these places.

I love the lights so much. I think they're beautiful.

So many buildings.

I took these on my trip to NYC in 2012. It's such a long time ago now and so much has changed but that's another story. I just think that behind every single one of those windows are completely different stories that could intertwine in some way. There's so many people in cities and I think people are interesting. I love people watching and I get a whole lot done in the city. Anyone else love doing that as well?

The architecture is gorgeous and to think that someone created these beautiful buildings just completely blows my mind. I know that cities are not everyones cup of tea. My dad for example does not like London all that much. I think for some, the busy atmosphere is just too much for them. And sometimes, yea it is. Don't get me wrong it's great to get out of the city to a more peaceful place every once and while. I love the beach as well and it's always exciting to go there too but in a much different way to going to the city.

This was my day trip to Morcombe beach last year, which explains why my hair is so long. How I miss the long hair haha.
This too, was a beautiful and great break from the city but as the title of this post days, I will remain, 'In the Heart of the City'. Or as Jay-Z said haha. But yea, quite a long post but a delve into something I truly love. Have we got any other city lovers up in here? Comment and let me know.

Day Trip to Manchester

Greetings!
Yesterday, if you follow me on twitter, you may have seen that I went to Manchester for the day to do a little old exploring in this new city. Man alive it was hot though, like I'm going to pass out in a minute, let me take a cold shower hot. Never the less, it was till a good day cos I love going to new places. It wasn't as big of a city as I expected though. Not as many tall building with huge glass fronts. But still a great selection of shops to chose from. In the heat though I wasn't in the mood to be trying on clothes. My brother and I managed to get a good selection of photos between us so credit goes to him for most of these I'm going to show you. Here's his tumblr if you're interested.

Two different trains to catch to get there.

Arriving in Mancs. and walking down to the main shopping area.

We headed to Revolution for our lunch. I absolutely love the interior of these restaurants. My brother and I had a cheeky midday cocktail. Should have got photos of them for you but I guess an excuse to go again has now arisen. I had a Blackened Chicken Burger with coleslaw and chips. Delicious.

We headed out of Revs. and went on a bit of an explore to take some photos but first I had to give this cute dog a stroke hanging its head out the window. It was so soft!

China Town.

Wow, attractive haha.

My brother and I's reflection.

They were giving out free Nando's chicken. If hadn't just eaten I would have been on that queue faster then you say could chicken.

I really like Range Rovers.

Quick shoe shot in the train station waiting to go back home. I'm wearing the patent black 1461 Docs and my brother wears Nike Stefan Janoskis. Hope you like this photo diary of the day. Hopefully try and do more things like this.
