My Charts | 4

As every summer entails, I have found some new music to have a little dance around my room to and here I am to share it with you. Currently partaking in this activity as you read (more than likely).
First up we have Jess Glynne's album, I Cry When I Laugh
I've had the date for this release on my calendar for quite some time and yes Jess, you have indeed delivered. Do approve rather highly. She's already had 6 number one's from this album before it was even released so I could only see it going up from here. It's hard to pick some songs out but if I have to then I do recommend No Rights No Wrongs and You Can Find Me. For me, a good album need to immediately capture my attention and be generally uplifting. You want that too? Well here you go. My gift to you.

Gorgon City - Saving My Life (feat. ROMAN)
Finally some new music from these guys. Released on their Vevo channel on Monday I've had this playing in the car, in my room, in the kitchen, anywhere I'm tolerated really. If you know any of Gorgon City's music at all then you'll recognise the baselines they've got going on in this one. Once again, will be jamming' to this around the house.

The Maine - American Candy
I was introduced to these guys last year and yea, they're great. I've not heard a band like them before. The first song I heard of theirs was English Girls so I definitely think you should all give this one a go. They have 2 videos for this song and I think both just show off their fun personalities. Also I'm super excited to be seeing them as a support act for Mayday Parade in January!
Here and here are the videos.

Hobbie Stuart - How You Love It
He's a fast growing YouTuber on the path of pursuing his musical career. I hadn't heard any of his work until recently. I was watching a video of Gabby's (velvetghost) and she featured a few of his songs and it was this one that stood out for me. Although it's not a song you can buy on iTunes, I think a cheeky youtube convert is well in order.

Years & Years - Shine (Jax Jones Remix)
If you know me at all then you'll know I have a very big love for these guys. I've followed and listened to them for a couple years now so the success that they're having is really exciting to hear. I have still yet to see them in physicality but my time will come. A friend linked this remix and I was a bit apprehensive at first as the original song is gold in my ears but I think this remix does it justice. Jax Jones gets one G point from me.

I hope you've found my choices for this chart interesting and let me know if you like any of them too.

The Capital Solo

This is definitely not the first post I've written about London and it probably won't be the last. If you know me at all then you'll know that I kind of really love me a slice of London. So it was only fitting that for my 20th birthday I take a trip there by myself to explore more of the city. Having never been on my own before I was actually feeling very confident that I could do it all. And let me tell you , I nailed it! The trains, the tubes (fun with the strike), finding my hotel, and generally finding my way around. Luckily I knew my way quite well anyways so that helped a lot. 3 days there and by the end I didn't want to leave.

I really liked the solitary metal box theng. I liked how everyone ignored it and walked right on by without a second glance.

Walking along Piccadilly I found myself faced with this geometric cloud sculpture. That's what you get when you're curious and not entirely sure where you're gonna end up.

I can't remember what this little inside shopping area was called but it was extremely fancy and I was not worthy. Let's just say it lead to New Bond Street.

My curiosity lead me to my crib for the night. I'd never seen the palace in the physicality before so this was a great surprise to stumble upon.

The dream car on the way to South Bank. Mwah!

The evening was drawing in on my last night and I decided to take a seat in front of Big Ben. I saw Koray Hussein taking a photo on the steps for Maybeldner's instagram. Not realising who it was I later messaged him on instagram about the happy coincidence.

Finishing where I began, in Trafalgar Square. I loved the lighting. It was on the verge of it being completely dark and all the lights were on. My favourite time to be in the city.
My love affair with London will be never ending and I already miss it.
One day I shall call it home, although it already feels like it to me.

Grammin'

Okay yea, it's been a while since we last spoke. I just looked how long it's been and I'm gonna pretend it's not real and would love for you to do the same. But I'm here bringing a new post to you which I very much hope you'll enjoy.
Lets give you a little update. In a couple of weeks I'll be moving back into my house with the best two people I could ever hope to live with. However, this means only one thing, I'll be in my final year of uni. But again, lets pretend that's not real for now and worry about it later when I actually need to.
I've visited a couple new places this summer and had a great time on all of the visits. I started off going to Reading to see the bae, then to London on my own with a cheeky night out with friend (definitely hurt my ankle that night) and then I went to Essex to surprise a friend for her birthday. Housemates reunited! It was all a barrel of fun really.
So onto the post, you all have instagram right? Yea me too. And I've really gotten into it recently. I'm turning into one of those people that has a theme and everything. I got the whole muted colours and pastel hues running all over my page and I love it.
Here's some shameless self plugging simply cos I like my page so much and I'm not afraid to say it......

You can find me @geeewalks or here.

I figured that instagram is something a lot of use probably have in common so why not share. If you've got an account you'd like to share then for sure leave it in the comments and we can all take a look.
I do hope you like mine as well and that you've enjoyed this little post. Hopefully I can get back on my blogging tracks. Perhaps I'll blog about tomorrow as I've agreed to partake in a hefty amount of exercise and I'm not entirely sure why I did that.

Thanks for reading everyone.

I Be Antwerpen

Last week I took a trip to Antwerp in Belgium with uni. A trip to explore, draw, and generally have a good time. I managed to tick all of these boxes. 3 full days to get to know the place was plenty to see everything we wanted and spend too much money on books, but you can never have enough books right?
We travelled by couch and the euro tunnel. A very long journey of about 8 hours on a couch is not something I'd recommend. Traveling down England, under the sea, through France and into Belgium we arrived late afternoon and with enough time to have a quick explore and have food.
On our first full  day we hit up the zoo and aquarium.

Walking through the train station to get to the zoo and the interior was amazing. If you know me, then you know I'm a sucker for a good interior and this one lived up to my expectations.
Second day we went to Brugge. Not gonna lie, it's not much to brag about. It has a beer brewery tour, a small museum and tonnes of chocolate shops because it's Belgium and they know how to do chocolate.
So moving right onto our last full day it was full of exploring any parts we wanted to, going back to book stores (and buying more books obviously), eating waffles and drinking cocktails.

Loving the bits of street art we kept finding everywhere.

I loved the architecture around the place. Literally amazes to think someone has made these buildings.

Quick Bubble Tea stop before we continue.

Yet more amazing architecture.

Our hotel had lots of cacti so I chose this one as my favourite. Tumblr much?
Antwerp's a lovely place, but it's no Italy. I'm glad I went as I always love going to new places but I don't think I'll be returning any time soon. I got the drawings and pictures I wanted so I left a satisfied customer.
Anyone else ever been to Antwerp? What did you think of it?

Thanks for reading.

Everything

Yes, it's been a while since I last blogged. I'll hold my hands up and admit it but hey ho, I do have a post today. It's a miracle! The first 2015 post is of course an outfit. An all black one at that. I'm very partial to my black and white monochrome colour scheme but it's very rare I actually wear a full black outfit. Today is that day. Wearing a couple of new purchases as well. I hope you like it. Leave comments if you so desire.

Top - Boohoo | Jeans - Boohoo | Cardigan - New Look | Scarf - New Look | Bag - Next | Phone case - Primark

I'd been on the look out for a long cardigan for a good while now and some high waisted black jeans too and I finally got my hands on both of them. I love the effect of an all black outfit. It's such a simple way pull off a put together, stylish outfit.
